Dorothy Ahlgren

Dorothy Ruth Ahlgren, age 90, passed away on July 14th, 2019. She was born on March 19, 1929 to Ruth and Gunnar Bergstrom. She was the oldest of five children. She grew up in Crystal, MN. After graduating from Robinsdale Sr. High, she attended business school for accounting. She met Don Ahlgren, who after having served his county during WWII in the South Pacific while with the US Navy, lived in South Minneapolis and they were married in 1950. They had three children. Don worked as an auditor for Phillip’s Petroleum and Dorothy worked in the accounting field for many years.

She loved music and played piano/organ and accordion- all by ear. She enjoyed knitting and needlework of any kind. Dorothy and Don enjoyed going to Las Vegas and Grand Casino on Mille Lacs.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; two sisters, Violet and Vivian; and her grandson, Eric. She is survived by two brothers, Wally and Fred Bergstrom; sons David and Daryl Ahlgren; daughter Darlene Vogel; six grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
