Doris Holcombe

Doris Holcombe, 92, formerly of Nisswa, died Saturday, July 24, at Pierz Villa Care Center in Pierz. Doris was born October 19, 1911, in Staples, the daughter of Dors and Dori (Maerten) Lynch. After high school she continued her education and became a Registered Nurse. She married Wilbur Holcombe in 1934 at Verndale. To this union one son, Jon was born. She worked at St. Joseph?s Hospital in Brainerd, but spent most of her time as a wife and mother. She loved music and playing the organ. She also enjoyed art, gardening, yard work and keeping her house.
Doris is survived by her son, Jon (Carole) Holcombe of Minnetonka, a granddaughter, Julie and 2 great grandchildren, Heather and Sydney; a sister, Kathryn Pettit of Detroit Lakes; and 2 brothers, Morris Lynch of Aldrich and Lynn Lynch of Alexandria. Her husband, parents, Dors and Dori Lynch; a sister, Marie Koplin; and 2 brothers, James and Eddie Lynch, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 27, 11 AM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, with Father George Zeck officiating. Friends may visit for one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Nisswa.
