Doris Isabel Headlee (nee Hojem), dearly loved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and wife died peacefully in her sleep early in the morning on October 15, 2011.
She joins in Heaven her husband, Dale Sr.; her two infant grandsons; her parents, Lewis and Selma Hojem; her infant sister, Grace; and her brothers, Teddy, Arnold and David.
Doris was born in Leader, MN, on October 24, 1919, during a morning snowstorm. She attended Maple Grove School, an elementary and middle school chartered by her parents, Pequot Lakes High School, and South High in Minneapolis, from which she graduated at age 14. She went on to St. Cloud State Teachers' College, from which she graduated at age 17. She taught school in Walker and Karlstad, MN. During World War II, she was introduced to her future husband, Dale, who was home on leave from the Army Air Force. They raised their 11 children in rural Pequot Lakes, where Doris shared her wonderful way with children with her own family.
Remembering her with deepest gratitude and love are her children, Grace (Gerry) Lindner, Panama City, Panama, Dale Jr. (Chris) Headlee, Pequot Lakes, Linda (Jim) Ek, Backus, Sharon Anderson, Bloomington, Lewis (Nancy) Headlee, Pequot Lakes, Carla (Jim Walfrid) Headlee, Eden Prairie, Lois (Jerry) Akerson, Pequot Lakes, Lori Whinnery, Maple Grove, Dean (Mary Kay) Headlee, Avon, Dorene (Mike) Baker, Pequot Lakes, Dan (Sue) Headlee, Pequot Lakes; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Doris is also survived by her cherished sister, Grace Lindstrom.

Services will be 11 AM on Friday, October 21, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 PM, at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
