Doris L DeLude, age 72, of Motley, formerly of Montrose, passed away at the Lakewood Health System Care Center on Wednesday, June 3. A Memorial service is planned for Saturday, June 27, at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church in Pillager with Pastor Heather Culuris officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Minnesota Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls.
Doris was born on August 21, 1936 in St. Paul, MN. She was adopted by Carl and Vivian Anderson. She grew up in NE Minneapolis and graduated from the Minnehaha Academy. On January 14, 1956 she married Donald DeLude, and together they raised seven children. In 1998 the couple retired and moved to Motley. Four years ago she moved into the Lakewood Care Center. Doris loved crafts and gardening. She was a member of the Montrose VFW Auxiliary and the Motley Lions. She was very active at the Care Center during her stay.
Doris is survived by her husband, Donald; children, Teresa Anderson, Denise (Ted) Anderson, David (Donna) DeLude, Timothy DeLude, Trish DeLude, and Elizabeth DeLude; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Kathy Alfolter, Karen (Roger) Peterson, Dottie (Don) Frenning, Sally (Richard) West, Carl (Marlene) Larson, and Jim Larson; sister-in-law, Meldy Lee; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; son, Daniel; brothers, Bob Lee and Gary Anderson; and brother-in-law, Bob Alfolter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lakewood Care Center and the First Lutheran Church in Pillager.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
