Doris Coulter

Doris M. Coulter, 82, of Brainerd, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at her daughter's home in Ocean View, HI. Services will be held this spring.

Doris was born May 25, 1931, in Joliet, IL, the daughter of George and Dorothy (Koepcke) Frederick. In 1951, she married Carl W. Coulter and the couple made their home in the Brainerd area. Doris was a jack of all trades and worked a variety of jobs, including: Brainerd State Hospital, US Post Office Mail Carrier, and at a garment factory. She enjoyed a number of hobbies - gardening, oil and acrylic painting, sewing, and working with stained glass. She was a member of the American Legion, Senior Citizen Center, and First Lutheran Church. Doris was an active donator for Toys for Kids.

She will be missed by her children, Carl (Cathy) Coulter, of Brainerd, Colleen (Lee) Turner, of Brainerd, Dorothy (Steve) Moon, of Ocean View, HI, Tammy Smiley, of Brainerd, and James (Jami) Coulter, of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Chad, Cody, Josh, Jessica, Neal, Luke, Brandi, and Rachael; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Beatrice Lane, of Mason City, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, George, Nancy, and Betty.
