Doris Cole

Doris Cole, age 84, of Motley, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Lakewood Hospital in Staples. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 9, 2011, at 11:00 AM at the Assembly of God Church in Staples with Rev. Roy Miles officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Motley Public Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 PM on Friday, April 8, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples.

Doris Cole is survived by her husband; Robert, 1 daughter; Luann (Noel) Mindeman of Barney, North Dakota, 1 son; Timothy Cole of Staples, 3 grandchildren; Nathan, Kristin and Kari.

Doris Cole was born on June 23, 1926 in Randall, to Clarence and Helen (Johnson) Frisk. Clarence and Helen (Johnson) Frisk. The family moved to Swanville then to Motley in 1937. She graduated from Motley High School in 1944. She then worked at the Farmers Co-op Store in Motley. On July 28, 1951 she was united in marriage to Robert A. Cole in Motley. They moved to the East Coast while Robert was in the military during the Korean War. Following his discharge from the military they moved to Minneapolis and then West St. Paul in 1956 and then to Motley in 1980 following Robert's retirement. She enjoyed doing photo albums and scrapbooks, sending cards, giving away baked goods, family visits,
and she was devoted to the Lord.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Waldo, Douglas and Donald.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples.
