Donnie Larsen

Donnie Rae Larsen, 89, of Backus, passed away after a brief illness, on January 29, 2016, at Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji. She was born, April 5, 1926, to Frank and Myrtle (Olsen) Faughnan in Duluth, MN. Donnie led an interesting and fun-filled life bartending, working in factories and spent the last 30 years of her working life filling a variety of roles in the medical field. Donnie was a woman of great intelligence, humor and had a snappy comeback for any situation. The Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins would have had admired the great fan she was! Donnie was an avid reader, fisher-person, wild-life enthusiast but, most important to her, was her family.

Donnie is survived by two sons, Don (Michelle) Baughman, of California and Randolph Larsen of Pine River; one daughter, Pat Doman of Pine River; two grandchildren, James (Rosie) Farrow, of New Mexico and Robyn (Brad) Opp of Iowa; and nine beautiful great grandchildren.

Donnie was loved and cared for by her family, friends and by many kind people in the Backus, Pine River and Hackensack (Birchview Gardens) areas. We'll all miss you like crazy mom...we love you!

Graveside services will be in Oneota Cemetery, Duluth, MN, in the Spring of 2016.
