Donna M. Vold, 78, of Baxter, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, October 13, 2014 at St. Mary's Pallative Care and Hospice. Family and friends are welcome to gather Thursday evening from 5-7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter and one hour prior to Funeral Services at 1:00 PM, Friday, October 17, 2014, also at the funeral chapel. Private interment at a later date.
Donna was born December 12, 1935, in Mondovi, WI, the daughter of Guy and Viola (Kniseley) Stellingwerf. She graduated high school in Mondovi. In 1957, she was united in marriage to Glenn Vold. The couple made their home and raised their family in the Brainerd Lakes area. In addition, Donna worked in the school system and later for Bremer Bank. Donna enjoyed tending her flower garden and spending time meeting people and spending her pennies at the Casino. She was a fan of sports and liked to watch the Packers, Lynx, Timberwolves and Twins. Donna always made sure her family knew how much she cherished them - whether attending grandchildren events, remembering birthdays or making sure the cookie jar was stocked with your favorite treat. Donna's kind, generous and patient spirit made her an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She will be missed by her husband, Glenn; children, Tammy (Tom) Klein, of Merrifield, Jeff (Roxanne) Vold, of Shafer, and Brad (Sharon) Vold, of Little Falls; siblings, Darrell (Judy) Stellingwerf, of South Beloit, IL and Sonia (Don) Blom, of Madison, WI; sister-in-law, Darlene Fischer, of Waterloo, IA; grandchildren, Jennifer (Bucky), Jason (Nicole), Jessie (Richard), Collin (Lora), Brianne (Jared), Kacie, Cole, Collin, Cody, Briana (Brad), Jared, Megan (Skyler), and Amber; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded by an infant son and her parents.
