Donna Torkelson

Donna Alice Torkelson passed away on June 21, 2014, at Our Lady of Peace Hospice House in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Donna was born on April 18, 1947 to Hjalmer and Leona Torkelson. She grew up on a farm in rural Pine River, Minnesota. She was a graduate of Pine River High School and Wadena Technical School. She worked as a secretary in St. Paul for many years until vision problems led to her early retirement. She then spent several years working as a nanny.

She is survived by one brother Marlin (Kathy) Torkelson of Pine River, two sisters, Joyce (Scott) Bachman of Baxter, MN, and Janet (Ted) Dempsie of Olathe, KS, four nephews and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Donna will be remembered for her strong and unconditional love for her family and her generosity to her nephews, nieces and several charities.

At Donna's request, there will be no funeral services. Private burial will be held at a later date.

Memorials can be sent to Our Lady of Peace Hospice House, Salem Lutheran Church, West St. Paul or Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Pequot Lakes.
