Donna McDermond

Donna M. McDermond, 82, of Brainerd died on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Assumption Home in Cold Spring, MN. Funeral Services for Donna will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 2:30 PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Pastor Doug Vagle officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Chapel. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.

Donna was born on December 15, 1929 in Harvey, ND to Melvin and Frances (Ruzicka) Tobey. She moved to Bemidji with her parents at an early age. She graduated from Bemidji High School. She then moved to Minneapolis where she united into marriage to Bill McDermond Sr. on July 2, 1960. Donna and Bill moved to St. Cloud before they moved to Brainerd. She enjoyed dancing, crossword puzzles, and was a Minnesota Vikings fan. Donna also liked politics and current events, but her greatest love was for her family.

Donna is survived by her children, Kathy McDermond of Sartell, MN, David (Dara) McDermond of St. Cloud, MN, Bill (Jenny) McDermond Jr., of Sartell, MN, Tom (Deb Moss) McDermond, of Ramsey, MN, and Doug McDermond of Detroit Lakes, MN; brothers, Melvin, Bruce, LeRoy, and Richard; sister, Nancy Savard; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
