Donna Coral Canning Good, age 89, of Pequot Lakes, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday December 21, 2013 at St. Therese Nursing Home of New Hope, MN. Donna was born June 12, 1924 in Cameron, WI to Adeline and Worden Canning. Growing up Donna thoroughly enjoyed roller-skating but she was a champ at ping-pong and played it into her 50's and won! Donna was married to Donald W. (Bud) Good from 1946 to 1970. In 1959 Donna, Bud and the children moved to a log cabin in Pequot Lakes, MN where they lived until 1965 when they moved to Lakeville, MN. After a career as a dental technician, Donna returned to her beloved cabin in 1979 where she lived until she took up residence at St. Therese in 2008. Donna was a Pequot Lakes City Council member from 1992-2000 and ran for Mayor of Pequot Lakes in 2000. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Phyllis Canning, Beth Carlson, Juanita Krogh, and Norma Runnels; brothers Worden Jr., Worden (Boyd), Roland (Rod), Lynn and Stuart Canning; and grandson Christopher (Scott) Callison. She is survived by and will be greatly missed by four children: Larry (Jane) Good, Laureen Tanoura, Linda (Chris) Callison, Libby (Rick) Wollenberg; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who lovingly knew her as "Auntie Donna". The family would like to thank the staff at St. Therese of New Hope and North Memorial Hospice for their excellent care. Memorials are preferred to St. Therese Foundation. A celebration of Donna's life will be held on Saturday January 4, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Chapel, 5125 West Broadway, Crystal, MN (763-533-8643) with visitation with the family one hour prior to the service.
