Donna Disterhaupt

Donna Rae Disterhaupt, age 86, of Brainerd passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side on Friday, May 8, 2020.  Donna will be laid to rest in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Brainerd on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 11AM.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.

Donna was born August 27, 1933 in Atkinson, Nebraska to John and Ethel Wondercheck.  She married Raymond Disterhaupt on May 21, 1951 in O’Neil, Nebraska.  The couple moved to Pillager, Minnesota in February of 1956, where the family owned and operated a cattle beef farm until their retirement.  Donna and Raymond found enjoyment in traveling for a few years before returning home to the Brainerd Lakes Area.  She enjoyed scrapbooking, sewing, embroidery, and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.  Donna was selfless always tending to her families’ needs before her own; and mentored a strong work ethic to her children.  She also taught her children the importance of manners and to always take care of one another.  Donna was a WONDERFUL mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Donna is survived by her children, Charles (Ann) Disterhaupt of Arkansas, Dorothy (Stan) Lound of Texas, Calvin Disterhaupt of Pillager, Sheryl Disterhaupt of Brainerd, Marilyn of Louisiana, Clyde Disterhaupt of Pillager, Chester (Patty) Disterhaupt of South Carolina; siblings, Jeannie, Margi, Loretta, Anna Mae; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She greatly anticipated the birth of a great grandchild in November.  Donna is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; granddaughters, Trista and Becky; siblings, JoAnn, Harold, Vernie, and Donald.
