Donna Brown

Donna Brown, age 88, of Brainerd, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at St. Therese of Oxbow Lake, Brooklyn Park. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 7, 11 AM, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Visitation will be Thursday, April 6, from 5-8 PM with Rosary starting at 8:00 PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Interment will be at Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery, Little Falls.

Donna Marie Brown was born May 24, 1928 in Brainerd, to Michael and Anna (Matzko) Vierzba. She graduated in 1946 from Washington High School in Brainerd. She was united in marriage to Robert S. Brown on March 6, 1949.

Donna enjoyed life as a homemaker and caring for her family. She was talented in all handiwork, such as cake decorating, candy making, sewing, needlework, and she loved gardening. She used her talents in helping with her daughters’ many activities. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Degree of Honor.

Donna will be lovingly remembered by her children, Carolyn (Richard) Krautkremer of Plymouth, Alison Scheelk of Brooklyn Park, Cynthia (Thomas) LeDell of Maple Grove, Laura Lee of Farmington, Susan (Dean) Farmer of Foreston, Sandra (Craig) Kienholz of Brainerd, and Brenda (Gregg) Staley of Boy River; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Geraldine (Marvin) Winson of Brainerd. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert S. Brown; son Lawrence Daniel, who died at birth; son-in-law Wayne Scheelk; her parents; and six siblings, George Vierzba, Ellen Smith, Eveline D’Angelo, Lorraine Peterson, Bernice Boudreau, and Leonard Vierzba. Services entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
