Donald "Don" Bloomquist

Donald R. “Don” Bloomquist, age 85 of Merrifield, MN passed away on August 9, 2019. Services for Don will be 2:00PM, Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Don was very family oriented, he loved his family and friends, he loved Sweet Pea, race car driving, snowmobiling, clearing trails, wildlife, wood crafts, NASCAR, Twins, and the Vikings. Don has been a self-sufficient man since he was a young boy. His first job was as a paper boy. From there, he worked through his high school years, then worked for Honeywell for 25 years; he then started his own business with his brother Jim and another partner, Roger. Don retired at 55 and moved to God’s country with his love, Dee.

Preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Genevieve Bloomquist and brother, Lawrence Bloomquist; mother and father in law; grandma Clos; Edward Clos; granddaughter Krista Marie Martin; great grandson Mitchell Dean Bloomquist; grandson Casey Bloomquist.

Survived by the love of his life, wife, Dorothy “Dee” Bloomquist; beloved dog, Bruno; daughters, Linda (Tom) Piper, Diane (Donnie) Flom, Cheryl (Keith) Nielsen, Joni Bloomquist; son, Donald Bloomquist; 12 grandchildren (Shawnski); nine great grandchildren; sister, Geraldine; brothers, Robert (Marge), James (Cindy), and many nieces and nephews.
