Donald Scavone

November 1, 1933 — September 19, 2015

Donald Scavone, 81, of Lake Shore, MN died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at his home. A Memorial Service for Donald will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation one hour prior to services. There will be a luncheon following services at the Brenny Reception Room.

Donald was born November 1, 1933 to Pasquale and Helen (Stone) Scavone in Oak Park, IL. He graduated from Proviso East High School in Maywood, IL and then continued his education at Elmhurst College. Donald was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Barbara Sherman in December of 1953 in Maywood, IL. He served in the US Army from 1954-1956 and received an honorable discharge. Donald worked as a mechanical engineer for several different companies throughout his career. Donald enjoyed fishing, playing cards, singing, listening to barbershop quartets, and was very involved with the Junior Achievement, Sr. Drum and Bugle Corp. and was a member of the VFW in Illinois. Donald had a great sense of humor and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Donald is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Cindi Scavone Rose of Elk River, MN, Shari Scavone of Osseo, MN, LeeAnn (Randy Albert) Scavone of Rogers, MN, Christine (Terry) Mitchell of Brooklyn Park, MN; grandchildren, Brenan, Ryan, Sara Rose, Allie Jo, Tatyana, Riley, Scott, Shannon, John, Heather, Miranda, Valerie, and Randy; great grandchildren, Marissa Rose, Hunter, Brantley, Natalie and Chloe. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
