Donald Roline

Donald Roline, 87 of Staples, MN died Friday, June 12, 2015, beside his beloved wife, Betty at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples, MN. Funeral services for Donald will be 11:00AM, Friday, June 19, 2015 at Staples United Methodist Church with Pastor Dan Foster officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather from 4:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, June 18, 2015 for visitation at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Moran Germania Cemetery, Todd County.

Donald was born April 25, 1928 in Bertha, MN to Jalmer and Stella (Johnson) Roline. He attended country school and graduated from Staples High School in 1946. Donald was united in marriage to Betty Daschler on July 21, 1948. He worked for the Railroad in Staples for 19 years and then became an insurance agent for American Family Insurance in 1965 until his retirement in 1988, at which time his son, Kevin took over the business. Donald was an active member of the Staples United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards with his card groups, square dancing, volunteering, and visiting over coffee and cookies, but especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Donald is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Richard (Marilyn) of Littleton, CO, Mark (Vicki) of Spring Valley, WI, Joy Berg of Edina, MN, Kevin (Connie) of Verndale, MN, daughter-in-law, Marcia Roline of Bemidji, MN; brothers, Arlan and Charles; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Timothy, and one sister, Marilyn. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
