Donald Molde

Donald William Molde,77 year old resident of Lake Alexander passed away at his lake home on November 3, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church 25430 Bison Road in Cushing, MN, at 12:00PM with visitation starting at 10:00AM on Wednesday, November 6, 2013.

Don was born in Little Falls on September 18, 1936 to Mildred (Dewey) and William Molde. He graduated from Little Falls High School in 1954, and St. Cloud State College in 1958. He obtained his Master of Music Education degree and McPhail College of Music in 1966.

Don taught band and music in Minnesota Public School for 34 years, the last 30 of which was in the Osseo School System. Don married Darline Miller in 1960 and to this union 2 children were born, Deborah and Mark. The family lived in Brooklyn Park for 30 years, spending summers and week-ends at the lake cabin. Upon Don's retirement in 1992, they moved permanently to Lake Alexander.

He achieved many accomplishments throughout his life, including President of the Brooklyn Park Jaycees, Brooklyn Park City Councilman, charter member and President of the Lincoln-Scandia Valley Lions Club, and was awarded the Outstanding Man of the Year in Brooklyn Park in 1971. Along with this, his love of music was shared in playing big band music in dance bands throughout the Minneapolis and local areas.

Left to cherish is memory are his wife, Darline of 52 years; daughter, Deb (Mike) Johnson of St. Cloud; 4 grandchildren, Ryan (Clara), Chad (Jacki), Jason Johnson, and Cami Rae Baumann; 1 brother, Howard Molde of Little Falls; and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Mark Donald Molde.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall, MN.
