Donald Keppers, Sr

Donald Keppers, 80, of Pillager, MN died Monday, May 7, 2018 at Riverside Assisted Living in Pillager, MN. Services for Donald will be at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Motley at a later date, with interment at Scandia Valley Cemetery in Cushing, MN.

Donald was born March 26, 1938 in St. Cloud, MN to Justine and Wanda (Templin) Keppers. He moved to Lincoln, MN as a young man with his family. Donald graduated from Pillager High School in 1957. He served in the US Navy for four years and two years in the Reserves. Donald married Linda Hare on October 19, 1963 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Motley, MN. They lived in Little Falls for a number of years. They lived in Faribault for 21 years, where Donald worked as a plumber at the State School for 8 years, and then owned and operated his own plumbing business. He then worked at St. John’s University as a Master Plumber for 13 years. They moved to Motley where he continued to do plumbing in his retirement. Donald enjoyed doing auto bodywork, remodeling homes, fishing, deer hunting, having morning coffee and visiting.

Donald is survived by his wife, Linda of Pillager; children, Don Jr. of Lincoln, Kevin (Sue) of Northfield, Wayne (Serenity) of Leader; 28 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Shirley) of Little Falls, Butch (Sherry) of Lincoln, Dennis (Karmen) of Pillager, Jeane (Phil) Smith of Little Falls, Darlene Rah of Brainerd, Mary (Bob) Mathe of Staples; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Justine and Wanda Keppers, and his son, David in September of 2004. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
