Donald "Butch" Dumpprope, age 67, of Poplar, passed away at his home on Monday, June 7. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 10, at 11:00 AM, at the Motley Free Methodist Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
Don was born on November 11, 1942, in Staples, to Harvey and Mary Jane (Matthews) Dumpprope. He grew up in the Leader area and attended country school there. He went to the Motley High School through the 10th Grade. As a child he spent some time in Montana. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1964, serving his country for 2 years. In 1967, he married Darlene McAllister, and they had two children. Don worked as a logger, retiring in 1997. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and 4 wheeling. He liked woodworking and horses. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Don is survived by his wife, Darlene; his daughters, Brenda Lindberg of Staples and Melanie (Mark) Wonders of Aldritch; 5 grandchildren; sisters, Maybelle Cory of Staples, June (Don) Hanson of Leader, Velma (Jim) VanBlaricom of Caldwell, ID, Evon (Robert) Cory of Staples, and Joyce (Robert) Daily of Leader; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mary Jane; brothers, Milford, Larry, Steve, and William.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
