Donald “Chopper” W. Bollum was born in Alexandria to Rolf and Alice (Persson) Bollum. He died peacefully in his sleep. Chopper loved talking and watching sports; golf, baseball, football and even a little hockey. If you needed stats on anything, he was a good source. Chopper was a longtime bartender in the area and in Colorado. He worked most recently at a local casino as a Blackjack dealer.
He is survived by sons Nathaniel and Zachary; grandchildren, Evan, Lila and Logan; mother, Alice; siblings, Keith, Robert, Mary (Tom) Esperson, Richard, Carol (Jim) Guin and significant other, Bonnie Carlson. Preceded in death by his father; and brothers, Gary and Brian.
Services will be 11 am Monday, May 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Visitation will be one hour prior.
