Dolores Lubowitz

Dolores L. Lubowitz, age 79, of Staples formerly of Longville, died Tuesday, June 14th, 2005. Funeral services were in the morning on Friday June 17th at 11:00 at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples. Relatives received friends on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples. Interment was Wednesday, June 22nd at 2:00 at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.
Dolores was born on March 28th, 1926 in Howard Lake, MN to Louis and Theodora (Oestreich) Gabbert. In 1944 she graduated from high school in Wayzata, MN. Then on June 5th, 1948 she married Anthony Edward Lubowitz Jr. in Delano, MN. After working as a secretary for the Cargill Company for many years, both she and Tony retired together in 1986. She and Tony were residents of the Longville area for many years. Dolores has spent the past year in Baxter before moving to the Staples Care Center recently. Dolores loved to knit, quilt, and play cards. She was an avid reader and bird watcher, and loved to feed the ducks.

She is survived by her son; Chuck (Karla Peterson) Lubowitz of Motley, 2 grandsons; David in St. Cloud and Michael serving aboard the USS Enterprise home ported in Norfolk, VA and a sister; Carol (Leon) Meyer of Hackensack. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years; Anthony, her parents and her three brothers Gordon, Kenneth, and Donald.
