Dolores Mae Kasper, 81, formerly of Nashwauk, MN and Staples, MN, passed away March 16, 2013, at Pierz Villa. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 19 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, 5-7pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 20 at Pierz Villa Chapel, in Pierz, MN, at 2pm, with visitation 1 hour prior. Burial will be at the Staples Evergreen Cemetery.
Dolores Mae Kasper was born to Emil and Mamie (Aho) Leppanen on February 16, 1932 in Nashwauk, MN. She grew up there and married Clifford Kasper on October 28, 1950. They owned and operated Kasper's Café in Nashwauk. At the age of 28, she returned to High school and received her diploma. Over the years Dolores was also a nurse's aide at Hibbing Hospital and later sold real estate. She cherished her family and friends, crocheting special gifts for many, and enjoyed going to the casino. Dolores was very spiritual and had a personal relationship with the Lord.
Dolores is survived by her daughters, Susan (David) Fogelquist of Grand Rapids, Linda (Brian) Allord of Pengilly, and Heather (Kyle) Maine of Pierz; brother, Jeffrey Leppanen of Staples; grandchildren, Heather, Amanda, Jared, Krista, Alyssa, Aly, and Bradyn; great-grandchildren, Nick, Talen, and Micah; sister in-law, Rita Leppanen; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Carol and cousin Elma. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 44 years Clifford Kasper; brothers, Elmer, George, and Gary; and great-grandson, Kenley.
