Diane Mildred Newstrom

Diane Mildred Newstrom, 75, of Crosslake, passed away on November 10, 2023.  A gathering of family and friends on Friday November 17, 2023 from 10:30 am - 1:00 pm at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN. Interment will be at 2 pm at Bennetville Cemetery near Aitkin, MN.

Diane was born on May 17, 1948, to Adley and Mildred (Kallinen) Emas in New York Mills, MN. After High School graduation, Diane was married to Gary Newstrom, and together they had a son. She worked for many years as an accountant. Diane also enjoyed bird watching, gardening, and reading. She really loved nature and the outdoors.

Diane is survived by her son, Todd (Lisa) Newstrom of Big Lake; grandchildren Sam and Ryan Newstrom; and sister-in-laws Carol Nystrom of Prior Lake, Leann Helmbretch, and Linda (Dean) Bennet; and niece Kelly (Dave) Koski. She is preceded in death by her parents Adley and Mildred Emas; husband Gary Newstrom; and brother Daryl Emas; brother-in-law Ken Nystrom; and Nephew Scott Nystrom.
