Derrik Kuschel

August 20, 1984 — March 3, 2007

Derrik David Kuschel, age 22, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 3, 2007, after courageously fighting cystic fibrosis since birth. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 10, at 11 am, at First Baptist Church in Baxter, with the Rev. Jim Goodew officiating. Friends may visit Friday evening, from 5-7 pm at Faith Baptist Church in rural Brainerd, and during the hour prior to services at First Baptist on Saturday. Interment will be at Lake Shore. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers, to Faith Baptist Church or to United Special Sportsman Alliance.
Derrik was born on August 20, 1984 in Brainerd, to Albie and Jodi (Saatzer) Kuschel. Derriks courageous outlook on life inspired many. Derrik was known for his charming charisma, and the ability he had to strike up a conversation with anyone who would listen. Derrik was an avid outdoorsman. Whether it was boating, snowmobiling, hunting, or anything in between, Derrik did it to the max. Derriks passion for work was unsurpassed. Derrik actively served in his church and hated it when he was not there due to illness. Derrik lived his life to the fullest and never complained about anything.

Derrik will be greatly missed by his family, including his parents, Albie and Jodi Kuschel; his siblings, Dustin (Sarah) Kuschel and Ashley Kuschel; his grandparents, Roger and Fran Saatzer and Gert Kuschel; his aunts and uncles, Pam and Jamie Templeton, Misty Dehn, and Todd and Denise Saatzer; and his cousins, Jeremy (Hailey), Josh, Jade, Karlie, and Brock. Derrik will also be greatly missed by his church family at Faith Baptist and all those who knew him. Derrik has now joined his Heavenly Father; his grandfather, Albie Kuschel, Sr.; and all those who have gone on before him in eternal life. Services entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
