Dennis Dale Capistrant, 29, formerly of Staples, died as a result of a car accident, Saturday, October 23, 2010 near Staples. A Military Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Camp Ripley Base Chapel. Family and friends are invited to gather Thursday evening from 5-7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples and one hour prior to services on Friday at the chapel on base. Interment will follow at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley.
Dennis was born October 24, 1980 in Staples, MN, the son of John and LaWanna (Crosno) Capistrant. He was a graduate of Staples High School in 1999. Dennis enlisted in the US Marine Corps where he served his country in Iraq and Kosovo for four years and stationed at Camp Lejuene in North Carolina. Following his honorable discharge, Dennis joined the Army National Guard. He was medically discharged in 2010. Dennis was currently working for Lindstrom Environmental, an asbestos removal organization, based in Plymouth, MN.
In 2001, Dennis was united in marriage to Carissa Daiker. Dennis enjoyed his family and spending time with his children. Dennis was conversationalist and enjoyed visiting with people. He liked to bowl, fish and play poker. Dennis enjoyed practicing his marksmanship. He was also fond of cooking.
Dennis will be missed by his wife, Carissa; his children, Zachary Capistrant, Kaitlynn Capistrant, Cassandra Daiker, and Markus LaDean; his mother, LaWanna Capistrant; his brother, Dustin (Jenny) Capistrant, of St. Cloud; his sister, Teneesa (Kris) Mumm, of Browerville; his grandparents, LaVonne and Ralph Lattie; great-grandparents, Dorothy and James Franklin; and two nieces and a nephew. He passed away with his father, John Capistrant.
