Dene Fahnlander

Dene Daniels Fahnlander, Age 89 years, 7 months and 23 days died on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, in hospice care in Apple Valley Minnesota.

Dene was born on October 18, 1921 in Staples, MN., to Mr. C. Peter and Fern (Wattles) Daniels. She graduated from Staples High School in 1939. She received her B.A. Degree from Miss Wood's Kindergarten and Primary School, and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of St. Cloud. Dene married Leo Fahnlander in Staples at Sacred Heart Church on November 7th, 1945. She had four children, Shirley (Phillip Turner) Suzanne Doyle (Pat Doyle) Mary, and Peter (Patty Larson).
Dene taught in her early years in Cloquet, Freeborn and Aitkin Minnesota. Dene taught in the Staples Elementary School system for 23 years. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, St. Ann's Circle, and the Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her children, Shirley Dene, Mary Carol and Peter. She is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo, daughter Suzanne Doyle, sister Shirley Voorhis, her parents, and one great grandchild, Kalyn Angevine.

A wake will be held from 5:00-7:00 on Thursday, August 25 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples with a Rosary at 6:30. Denes funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Staples on Friday,August 26 at 9:30 A.M. by Father Joe Korf. Interment at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, Minnesota.

Pall bearers are Paul Carlson, Joseph Carlson, Leo Carlson, Peter Carlson, Ryan Doyle, Patrick Fahnlander and Cara Sorenson. Plus many honorary pall bearers.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples.
