Deloris Elaine “Micky” Coffel, 82, of Breezy Point, died Friday, July 21, 2017 at Good Samaritan Village – Bethany Campus in Brainerd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Crosslake. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to Mass at the church and to attend a reception to follow at the Eagle’s Club in Brainerd. Private Interment will be held at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley.
Micky was born July 10, 1935, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Herbert and Lucille (Wrobel) Mickelson. Her family stayed in the Metro Area and she attended De La Salle High School before enrolling at Vocational School. She worked for The Arsenal until it closed. She worked for Ball Electronics until 1989 when she retired.
In 1955, she married Eugene Coffel at March Air Force Base in California. The couple made their home in Columbia Heights until they moved to Breezy Point to enjoy their retirement. Micky was active in the Breezy Point Ladies Club as well as Red Hats. She also liked to spend time fishing, bowling and gardening.
Micky will be missed by her children, Christy Lou (Roger) Heidelberger, of Merrifield and Daniel (Kathy) Coffel, of Ideal Township; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sr. Clarinda Coffel, OSB; brother-in-law, Jerome (Hallet) Coffel, of Plymouth; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene in 2011; brother, Burdell; and her parents.
