Delores Severson

Delores “Dee” J. Severson, 82, of Brainerd, MN died on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. Services for Dee will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 2:00PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN with visitation one hour prior to services at the chapel.

Dee was born on May 23, 1935 in International Falls, MN to Earl and Cecelia (Stoffel) Anderson. She attended Ray School through 8th grade. She graduated from International Falls High School in 1953. Dee was married to Virgil Severson on November 12, 1955 in International Falls. In 1957, Virgil and Dee moved to Missoula, MT for two years until moving to Brainerd, MN in 1959. They owned and operated Severson’s Resort in Merrifield, MN from 1961 to 2014. Dee enjoyed cooking, gardening, and volunteering. She worked as the blood drive coordinator for the American Red Cross for 30 years, for which she was recognized in 2016.

Dee is survived by her loving husband, Virgil of Brainerd, MN; sons, Bob Severson of Brainerd, MN and Ron (Claribel) Severson of Brainerd, MN; and brother, Robert “Bob” Anderson of International Falls, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Cecelia; sister, Dorothy Ecoff; and two brothers, Earl and LeRoy Anderson. Memorials are preferred to The American Red Cross. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
