Dolores Morey, age 92, of Motley, passed away at her home on Friday, September 17. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, September 20, at 11:00 AM, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Motley, with Fr. Scott Wittkop officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Rush City, MN.
Dolores was born on September 20, 1917, to August and Anna (Weske) Muenzer, in Rush City, MN. She attended school in Rush City, graduating from the 12th grade. On May 17, 1939, she married Milo Anderson. She and Milo purchased the Love Lake Campground in 1961, and Dolores kept it open even after Milo's passing in 1973. Dolores then went to work at Morey's Fish Company in Brainerd in 1979 where she met and later married Ed Morey. She and Ed traveled to many places around the world. After Ed passed in 1987, she sold the house on Love Lake and built her home in Motley.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, August and Anna Muenzer, husbands, Milo Anderson and Edward Morey; brother, Conrad; sister, Agnes (Roland) Friday; and nephews, Clair Friday and Verne Friday.
She is survived by her niece, Arleen Friday; great nieces and nephews; step sons, Loren (Kathy) Morey and Eldon (Karen) Morey; and grandchildren.
Dolores loved her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with them, playing cards, fishing, entertaining, and gardening. Watching the Twins and the Vikings was a past time.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
