Delores Hill

Delores passed away on March 1, 2025. She was a strong woman and fought cancer starting in 2019. Her motto was, “Life Is Good!” She loved life and would always find something good in every day. 

Delores was born on a farm near Foley MN, attending a one room schoolhouse until moving to St. Cloud with her parents, Lorraine & George Wolf, as a teenager. After graduation from Tech High School, she worked as a bookkeeper until she met and married the love of her life, Don. They bought Big Springs Resort on Thunder Lake near Remer and operated it for 57 years. Being seasonal, winters were spent in Florida. Delores loved walking the Fort Meyers and Sanibel Island beaches collecting seashells. Her kind and loving family meant everything to her. She loved entertaining and always put others first. The kitchen was her “Happy Place,” cooking, baking, and collecting cookbooks. 

Delores also enjoyed traveling and motorhome camping, especially trips to Alaska. She belonged to service groups and sewed for charities. Delores liked playing cards, challenging board games, and especially jigsaw puzzles. 

Delores is survived by her husband Don, sons Randy and Roger Hill, sister Betty Jane Kiser, brother-in-law Jim Sandeen, grandchildren Ashley (Tyler) Clark and Justin Hill, great grandchildren Jaxon, Cooper and Makenna, and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorraine and George Wolf; her sister, Margaret Sandeen; her brother, Larry Wolf; her infant sister Dorothy; and nephews Michael Wolf and Ben Sendy. 

A Celebration of Delores’s life will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Remer, on Saturday, March 15, 2025, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, Remer & Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Outing.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
