Delores Bruggeman

Delores “Dody” Margarite Rudlang Bruggeman passed away on December 18, 2023, at Essentia St. Joseph’s Medical Center, in Brainerd, MN. She was 83 years old. A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 4 PM on Saturday, May 4, at American Legion, Pequot Lakes.

Dody was born to Lester and May (Potts) Fuhrer on May 12, 1940, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The family moved to Minnesota three days short of her sixth birthday. Her first job was a waitress at Manhattan Beach, then to the grocery store in Crosslake until marriage. She then went on to receive her CNA license and would work for 34 years at Good Samaritan Home in Pine River., where she enjoyed playing pranks on her coworkers. 

Dody loved spending time with her family, visiting friends over coffee, playing cards, garage sales, thrift stores and going to the casino. 

Dody is survived by her daughters, Tammy (Neil) Peterson, St. Croix Falls, WI, Kimberly (Robert) Swenson, Backus, MN; grandchildren: Todd (Natalie) Waters, Centuria, WI, Elizabeth (Jarrod), St. Croix Falls, WI, Nick (Shannon) Swenson, Backus, MN, Cody (Carly) Swenson, Pequot Lakes, MN, Brittany (Justin) Bosak, Balsam Lake, WI, Kaden Swenson, Motley, MN; 15 great grandchildren; sisters: Cloie Smith, Pine River, MN, Estella Fuhrer, River, MN, Robin Fuhrer, Hastings, MN, Kim Welle, Backus, MN; brother Joe (Jan) Fuhrer, Whitehall, MT; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son, Kevin Rudlang; husband, Dale Bruggeman; parents, Lester and May Fuhrer; brothers, Leo Fuhrer and Harold Fuhrer.
