Delbourne DelG. Reck, age 86, of Brainerd, died Saturday as the result of an automobile-pedestrian accident in Brainerd. A memorial services will be held Thursday at Bethany Good Samaritan Village Chapel at 1:30 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Camp Ripley, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethany Good Samaritan Village or your favorite charity in his name.
Del was born in Danube, Minnesota on January 11, 1919. He served in the United States Navy during World War 11. He came to the Brainerd area in 1973 to reopen the Lonesome Pine Resort on Bay Lake with his wife Cathie. They sold the resort in 1979 and moved to a home on Lake Edward. For the next fifteen years he did carpenter work for local individuals and at Camp Lincoln and Camp Hubert.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years Cathie; daughters and son-in-laws, Kay and Rodney Ford of Cocoa, FL, Jackie and Al Hohenstein of St. Pete Beach, FL; sons and daughter-in-laws, George and Robbie Reck of Moorhead, Jerry and Jane Reck of Staples; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister Grace Kindall of Doty, WA. His parents and two brothers, Myron Dickand Clarence preceded him in death.
