DeEtta DeeSorenson, age 86, of Staples, passed away on Tuesday morning at the Lakewood Health System Care Center. A memorial service is planned for Saturday May 6th at 1:00PM at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples with Rev. Wesley Johnson officiating. The visitation will be Friday evening from 5-7 with a prayer service at 6:30. DeEtta was born on November 29, 1919 in Mahnomen, MN to Edward and Carrie (Deegan) Reipke. At a young age the family moved to Wadena where Dee finished High School. She taught school for a few years until she married Wayne Sorenson on February 11, 1944. After raising her three children she returned to teaching and worked until retirement in 1975. Dee had many hobbies including, candy making, book keeping, bowling, travel, watching all manner of wildlife, and she was a wonderful gardener. Dee is survived by her husband Wayne; children, Ron, of Marine on St. Croix, Jane (Mike) Ringler, of Palmer, AK, and Bob (Cindy), of Staples; grandchildren, Joel Ringler, Chad Ringler, Amanda Sorenson, and Brent Sorenson; great-grandchild, Emma; sister-in-law, Phyllis Gaare; life long friend Sadie Tramm; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters.
