Debra Kay Rhymers, age 52, of Crosslake, passed away in her sleep on July 8, 2009, at her home in Crosslake. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at Crosslake Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday at the Church. Interment will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Deb grew up on Big Sandy Lake with her grandparents. She graduated from Aitkin High School and Central Lakes College. She was united in marriage to Craig Rhymers in Crosslake Lutheran Church on June 4, 2005, and they made their home on Velvet Lake. Deb loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. She loved birds and was a DNR Loon Watcher for Velvet Lake. She was also a dog lover and supporter of H.A.R.T. animal shelter. She was an accomplished artist of birds and animals and donated some of her paintings to the annual Crosslake Lutheran Church Jul Kaffe Fest
Deb is survived by her husband, Craig Rhymers; son: Steven (Marianne) Saltz of Ft. Meyers; daughter: Ashley Jacobs of Brainerd, MN; her father, Thomas Saltz; and brother, Michael Saltz of Madison.
