Debra Jean Peterson, age 51, of Baxter, died peacefully Saturday evening at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with the Rev. Bob Evans officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday at the Brenny Funeral Chapel and for one hour prior to services on Friday.
Debra Jean Peterson was born on March 23, 1955, in Wabasha, MN, the daughter of Dale and Fran (Madsen) Stettler. She was called from this life Saturday evening, May 27, at her home in Baxter. She attained the age of 51 years, 2 months, and 4 days.

In 1962 Debra's family moved to Rochester, MN, then to Roseville, MN, and finally to Brainerd where she graduated in 1973. After high school she continued her education receiving her Associates Degree from Brainerd Vocational-Technical College. She went to work for the Crow Wing County Sheriff Department, serving for 27 years. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Among other things she enjoyed were fishing, camping, going on motorcycle trips with James, water skiing, and just being at home reading.

She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents. Debra is mourned in passing by her husband, James; daughters, Lisa Braaten of Sartell, MN, Brenda (Mitch) Becker of Pierz, Tina Peterson of Alexandria, and Jennifer Peterson of Bloomington; grandchildren, Nathan, Christopher, and Ryan Braaten, and Cavin, Cale, and Chase Becker; brothers, Duane (Paula) Stettler of Brainerd, Danny (Teresa) Stettler of Sauk Rapids, and Don Stettler of Brainerd; 4 nephews and 1 niece.
