Debra Brown

Debra A. Brown, age 62, after courageously fighting cancer for many, many years, passed away peacefully and at home with her loving husband, Steve, and cats by her side on October 11, 2023, three days after their 35th wedding anniversary. Debbie recently retired after 24 years with the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department. Debbie's kindness, compassion and generosity touched countless family, friends and coworkers. Her main passion was for all animals, from her many rescue dogs and cats to the wild animals living in the woods by her home. She was an avid supporter of many animal rescue organizations including The Animal Humane Society and The Wildcat Sanctuary.

Preceded in death by grandparents, Daryl and Bea Riley; mother, Renee Rasmusson; sister, Kim Kirkwood; and Cookie Rasmusson. Survived by her husband, Steve Brown; father, Gary L Rasmusson; brother, Gary S Rasmusson (Christine); sister, Andrea Petersen (Tom); aunt, Sandy Hansen (Gary); niece, Lindsay Jenner (Andy); and many other extended family, nieces, nephews and close friends.

A celebration of life for Debbie will be Saturday November 11, 2023, 12pm - 4pm at The Jenner Homestead, 24715 Co Rd 1, Zimmerman, MN 55398. Memorials preferred to The Wildcat Sanctuary https://www.wildcatsanctuary.org or your favorite Animal Humane Society.
