Deborah Susan Sing” Bjornoos”
Deborah Susan Sing, born on September 12, 1951, in Stillwater, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024, in Staples, Minnesota.
Deborah was the beloved daughter of Alfred Lee Bjornoos and Maxine Georgia Bjornoos. In 1957, her family moved to Randall, Minnesota, where she spent her childhood and formative years. She graduated from Little Falls High School in 1969 and later pursued her passion for creativity by studying Interior Design at the University of Minnesota.
On August 4, 1973, Deborah married Steven Clarence Sing, beginning a devoted partnership filled with love and shared experiences in the various places they called home. In Crookston, Minnesota, Deborah learned to play handbells at the First Presbyterian Church. This led to 45 years of playing and directing at every church she subsequently attended. As an avid reader, it was fitting that she worked in Crookston’s school libraries and on the Moorhead, Minnesota, Library Bookmobile. Hobbies kept Deborah busy. She loved making chain-maille jewelry for herself, friends, and family, sewing, (even the tiniest Barbie clothes!), traveling, camping, and fishing with Steve for sunfish (and only sunfish). Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and cherished memories.
Deborah is lovingly remembered by her husband: Steven Sing; two daughters and their families: Amara Kelly Sing Pamperin, her husband Mike Pamperin and, their son Flynn Steven Pamperin of Prior Lake, Minnesota; and Jenna Lea Sing Benjamin and her husband Timothy "Benji" Benjamin of De Pere, Wisconsin. She is survived by her brothers, Robert Bjornoos and his wife Cathy of Cambridge, Minnesota, and Patrick Bjornoos of Randall, Minnesota, as well as many nieces and nephews and her second family, Kathy and Herman Metzger and their children.
Known for her dedication to family and her creative spirit, Deborah touched the lives of those around her in profound ways. She will be deeply missed by the many friends she made in the towns she and Steve called home over the years. May her memory bring comfort and peace to those she leaves behind.
Memorial services will be held Sat., Dec. 28 at Faith Lutheran Church, 430 12th St.NE, Staples, MN. 58479. Visitation at the church 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m. with lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers: Memorial donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Bell Choir or Staples Friends of the Library in Deborah’s memory.
