Dean Schwendeman

Dean Arthur Schwendeman, age 58, of Brainerd died unexpectedly due to a motorcycle accident on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 in Nahant, SD.  A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from 11-1PM at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.

Dean was born on August 22, 1961 in Brainerd to Duane and Darlene (Leikvoll) Schwendeman.  He was a wild and care free child, who always enjoyed hanging out with his buddies.  Dean proudly served his country in the United States Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He met the love of his life, Cindy Cordingly, which was a love that started as a friendship and has remained for 22 years.  Dean and Cindy were spontaneously married on August 14, 2001.  He always taught his family to strive for happiness, give things time because it will all work out in the end, and don’t do anything today that can hold off until tomorrow.  Dean enjoyed computers, reading and tinkering in the garage.  He was kind, loving, supportive, hilarious and simply… pretty amazing.  Above all else, Dean loved his family beyond words and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Dean is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Cindy of Brainerd; children, Tina (Melvin) Gjerstad of Mankato, Jessica (Randy) Heidelberger of Brainerd, Holly (Tyler) Riesner of Brainerd, Richard (Alexandra) Schwendeman of Foley, William Schwendeman of Wiliston, ND, Zebadiah Schwendeman of Tampa, FL, Zachary Schwendeman of Cologne, Nicholas (Kristin Dight) Schwendeman of Plain View; siblings, Kimberly Schwendeman of Pierz, Wanda (David) Klemish of Randall, Steve Schwendeman of Little Falls, Jeff (Melissa) Schwendeman of Breezy Point, Kristi (Phil) Krause of Little Falls; 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and distant relatives.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jodi Bisen; and sister-in-law, Shelly Schwendeman.
