Dean Allen

Dean Leonard Allen, 82, of rural Brainerd died Monday, February 24, 2003 at his home. He was born March 11, 1920 in Wells, to Hugh and Hatty (Tiedt) Allen. He grew up and attended school in Wells. He began work on the family farm. In 1953 he moved to rural Brainerd to help his future father-in-law on a dairy farm, which Dean later owned and operated. He was married to Averil Krueger on February 27, 1954, in Mankato. In addition to running his farm Dean did carpentry work in the area.
Dean Allen is survived by Averil, his wife of 49 years; a son Kenneth (Karen Naus) Allen of rural Brainerd; and a sister Myrtle Madden of Auburn, WA. His parents, three sisters Doris, Thelma, and Clara, and two brothers Edward and Orley preceded Dean in death.

Memorial services will be Saturday, March 8, 11:00 AM, at Light of the Cross Lutheran Church in Garrison. Spring interment will be at Dykeman Union Cemetery in Maple Grove Township. Arrangements are with Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
