David Siefke

Services for David Siefke, 80, of Pequot Lakes will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2009 at the Kline Funeral Home in Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Kline Funeral Home in Pequot Lakes and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in the Pequot Lakes City Cemetery. David passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Whispering Pines Nursing Home in Pine River.
David Siefke was born August 10, 1928 at Pequot Lakes the son of Gustav and Selma (Kautz) Siefke. He grew up and attended country school near his home. He entered the United States Army and served in Guam and Okinawa. Following his honorable discharge from the military, David moved to Madesto, CA where he operated a taxi. He married Jesse Wray in 1956. They eventually moved back to Pequot Lakes and took over the family farm.
He was a member of the Aurora Masonic Lodge #100 in Brainerd. He enjoyed reading, hunting and trapping.
David is survived by his two daughters, Teresa Menke of Pequot Lakes and Lorna (Bryan) Harber of Austin, MN; three grandchildren, Sarah and Carrie Menke and Audrey Harber; and by two special nephews, Charles and Lewis Long.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jessie; five older sisters, Lena, Dora, Gertrude, Hattie and Violet; two brothers, Calvin and Raymond.
