David J. Niemann, age 50, of rural Brainerd died Friday, February 16, 2007 in a snowmobile accident on Gull Lake. Memorial services will be Wednesday, February 21, at 1 pm, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Friends may visit at the funeral chapel from 10 am to 1 pm on Wednesday. Private interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis at a later date. David Joseph Niemann was born March 19, 1956 in Minneapolis, to Douglas and Elaine (Monahan) Niemann. His family spent as much time as possible at their cabin on Gull Lake, and David moved to Brainerd when he was seventeen. He graduated from Brainerd High School. He was united in marriage to Cheryl CheriMata in Brainerd on April 20, 1985. The couple had two daughters, Jamie and Ashley. David worked at Potlatch for twenty years, and was presently employed by Wausau Paper. He loved riding motorcycle, snowmobiling, fishing, and spending time with his many friends. David id survived by Cheri, his wife of 21 years; his daughters, Jamie (Eric) Sullivan, of Brainerd and Ashley Niemann, at home; his grandchildren, Jordyn and Camryn Sullivan; his mother, Elaine Niemann, of Baxter; a brother, Ron (Rose) Niemann, of East Gull Lake; and many other relatives and friends.
