David Hanson

David Michael Hanson, age 61, of Pine River, passed away Friday, August 24, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society, Pine River. He was born to Henry and Vera Hanson on December 15, 1950, in Farmington, MN. David grew up in Pine River and graduated from Pine River High School in 1968, then went on to the University of Minnesota where he earned his bachelor's degree and master's degree in education. He married Linda Pearson in Minneapolis on November 19, 1977. David felt his biggest accomplishments were being voted teacher of the year five times and having a yearbook dedicated to him at the all African American school in Atlanta where he taught for 13 years.

David is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Mike Papp and Jason Papp; brothers: John, Henry, Alfred, Vernon, Howard; sisters: Caroline, Juleen, Vivian, Deanna; and grandchildren: Brian, Marissa, Matthew and Tony David.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Selmer and Ernest; and sisters, Esther, Marian and Odella.

Services will be 1 PM on Sunday, August 26, at Riverview Church, Pine River.
