David Hall, age 76, of Nisswa, MN, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Brainerd on June 26, 2022. A Memorial Service for David will be held on Friday July 1, 2022, at 12:00pm at Pequot Lakes Baptist Church. There will be a visitation held on Thursday June 30, 2022, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
David was born in Pequot Lakes, MN on November 8, 1945, to Rolland and Irene Hall. He attended Nisswa Elementary school and graduated from Brainerd High School. He worked in construction all of his life, building and remodeling homes. He was known by many as the best carpenter in Crow Wing County.
David has a very impressive list of accomplishments that he, and his family, are very proud of. He was very proud to serve as a Nisswa Firefighter for 41 years and was a First Responder in Nisswa and Lake Shore for 20 years. He was employed by Reichert Bus Service as a bus driver for 54 years. David recorded an impressive 500,000 miles with a snowplow down, clearing driveways and parking lots. He was a charter member of the Nisswa Jaycee’s, where he organized the Winter Jubilee, was a Grand Marshall in the Nisswa Jubilee Parade, and won Minnesota Jaycee Statesman Award. In 1996, he was awarded the US JCI Senatorship position.
David was a member of the Bluewater Chapter of the MN Deer Hunters Association, and a part of the Gull Lake Drifters. He was a member of Nisswa’s Sons of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn, of Nisswa, his daughters Shelly Birchem of Brainerd, Kathy Toensing (Chad Paulson) of Brainerd, his stepson, Ryan (Aubree) Karsten of Richmond, CA, his granddaughters Alex Toensing of Grand Forks, ND, and Aela and Caia Karsten of CA, his grandson (and best buddy) Brady Toensing of Brainerd, his sister Peggy (Gene) Nickel of Nisswa, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
David is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Dennis Hall.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
