David Franzen

David "Spigs" Franzen, 64, of Pequot Lakes, died at his home on October 2, 2012. Services for David will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Valle Cemetery in Brainerd, MN.

David was born April 22, 1948, in Brainerd, the son of Gust and Marcelline (Rodman) Franzen. Following his graduation, Spigs started working sandblasting and painting jobs. He served in the Merchant Marines. Spigs enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also was an avid admirer of classic cars and street rods. Spigs attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He will be missed by his wife, Sandra; children, Heidi (Michael) Virnig, of Hillman, Dustin (Kelsi) Franzen, of Nisswa, Sharri Franzen, of Pequot Lakes, Preston Franzen, of Pequot Lakes, and Criston Franzen, of Nisswa; siblings, Cindy (Buzz) Guin, of Nisswa, Patricia (Walter) Bollinger, of Florida, Kathleen (Bill) Rakow, of Brainerd, Mike (Rosemary) Franzen, of Baxter, and Lester (Peggy) Franzen, of Brainerd; and five grandchildren, Sean, Ashley, Danielle, Ellie Jean, and Aaron David. He was preceded in death by his father, Gust and brother, John.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
