Darrell Brown

Darrell Brown, 79, of Backus, passed away on September 9, 2011, at his home with family and friends at his bedside after a battle with cancer. He was born January 5, 1932, to Maude and Frank Brown in Minneapolis.

Darrell was a member of the American Legion Post 368 in Backus and VFW Post 3839 in Jenkins. He retired after 30 years of being employed by Natrogas Propane in Pequot Lakes.

Darrell will be missed by his wife, Mary; daughter, Linda (John) Armstrong of Breezy Point; stepsons: Randy (Trish) Orth of Dayton, TX, Rick Orth, Scott Orth, Shane (Lora) Orth, all of Backus; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Myrt (Harry) Sterling of St. Anthony, MN; brother, Wallace (Dee) Brown of Apache Junction, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold Brown.

A celebration of life memorial service for Darrell's family and friends will be held at his home at 2 PM on Saturday, September 17 with Pastor Jeff Broom and Chaplain Sam Dodd officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
