Darrel Dukek

Darrel Lavern Dukek, 46, of Staples died on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services for Darrel will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN with visitation Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 5-7 PM and one hour prior to services.

Darrel was born to Darrel and Doris (Haron) Dukek in White Bear Lake, MN on March 14, 1968. Darrel moved to the Motley area with his parents in his teen-age years. He was the youngest of four boys, Larry Dukek, Gary Dukek and Richard Dukek. Darrel married Katrina Bennett on June 24, 2009 in Fort Worth, TX. His wife and children were by far his greatest passion. Darrel enjoyed spending time with his many close friends, cars, car shows, working on cars, reading, camping, fishing, hunting, collecting guns, and enjoyed learning about any kind of history. Darrel loved joking, was very personable, and took pride in his guppy fish tank and enjoyed snowmobiling. He loved playing video games with his children. Darrel treated no one like a stranger-he would give the shirt off his back for anyone.

Darrel is survived by his wife, Katrina Dukek; children, Darrel Dukek, Melissa (Jeff) Fink, Mindy Dukek, Sean Dukek; granddaughter, Athena Dukek; brothers, Larry (Kathy) Dukek, Richard (Sam) Dukek and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrel and Doris Dukek; brother, Gary Dukek and Mark Michel, who was like a son to Darrel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
