Darlene was born on November 22, 1943 in Los Angeles, CA. She spent her early years in Los Angeles with her mother Mae until they moved to Lake Park, MN. Their final destination was Fargo, ND where Darlene graduated from Fargo Central in1961. After high school she continued living in Fargo where she met Wally. They were married on September 4, 1961, raised 3 children and were together for 55 years. When she wasn’t working, she spent most of her time at her kids school activities and sporting events. Her favorite past times included weekend camping trips and snowmobiling with her family. Once a year at their cabin on Lake Maud in Minnesota, she was known to waterski in her jeans! She also enjoyed playing cards with friends and travelling to Arizona to see her daughter, Terri and grandchildren.
Darlene worked for American Bank and Trust as Lead Teller and in Human Resources before pursuing a career in real estate. She became the office manager at Metro Realtors until she decided to become a Realtor. Selling real estate was her passion and she enjoyed finding clients their dream homes and making lasting friendships with all of them. After retirement she and Wally moved to Nisswa MN in 2009 so they could be closer to family. This allowed her to spend more time with her children and grandchildren and be an integral part of their lives. She met many friends at Crossroads in Nisswa where she spent the remainder of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her loyal cat companion, Max, watching the wildlife and true crime shows from her living room, visiting with her neighbors and reading a good book while caring for her plants in the sunroom; her favorite room in the house. An afternoon outing to play bingo was especially fun with friends and family. She also became an avid online shopper and once mistakenly bought 3 carpet shampooers!
She is going to be missed dearly by her friends and family. She is survived by her daughter, Terri Corbo-Fuller of Phoenix AZ, and her son Jason Evanson (Estelle) of Baxter, MN. -5 grandchildren, Brittney Grosh (Shane), Carly Fuller, Alex Evanson (Ally), Taeana, and Nicholas Evanson, along with two great grandchildren Jameson Grosh and Brynleigh Evanson.
