Danny ?Benjie? Benjamin, 54, of Brainerd, died Tuesday, February 01, 2005 at his home. Funeral services will be Friday, February 4, at 2 p.m. at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, with Reverend Harold Erickson officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home during the two hours prior to services.
Danny Louis Benjamin was born July 28, 1950 in Little Falls, to Louis and Helen (Beto) Benjamin. The family moved to Texas for seven years, and then returned to Brainerd in 1961. He attended schools in Brainerd. Following his education he worked as a groundskeeper at Evergreen Cemetery. He then began work at North Star Plating, a job he kept for 22 years until declining health forced his retirement in 2000. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth ?BJ? in Brainerd July 13, 1996. He was a devoted father to BJ?s daughter, Sarah. He enjoyed raising animals on his hobby farm, including horses, dogs, a donkey, and a pig. He also enjoyed fishing and target shooting. He enjoyed playing slots at the casino. A fun-loving man with a memorable sense of humor, he loved practical jokes and pranks and created humorous nicknames for everyone. Above all, he loved his family and loved children.

Danny is survived by BJ, his wife of nearly nine years; daughter Sarah Nelson; parents Helen Nipper, St. Cloud and Louis Benjamin, St. Cloud; siblings Ginny (Bud) Ashenberner, Crosslake, Mike (Theresa) Benjamin, AZ, Sherry Benjamin, OR, and Bruce (Pam) Benjamin, St. Cloud; grandchildren Aubrey and Joe; and several nieces and nephews.
