Daniel Senger, 80, of Breezy Point, died at his home Monday, February 8, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at St. Alice's Catholic Church in Pequot Lakes with Father Mike Patullo officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather Monday evening from 5-7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes and also one hour prior to Mass at the church on Tuesday. Interment will take place at Pelican Woods Cemetery in Breezy Point.
Daniel was born October 21, 1935, in Devils Lake, ND, the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Kuntz) Senger. He attended high school in Devils Lake before enlisting in the US Army National Guard. In 1955, he was united in marriage to LaVon Manasterski and the couple made their home in Devils Lake where he was a salesperson and drove truck for Sweet Heart Bread. The family moved to Hibbing and Daniel began a career with Ecolab. Following his retirement, Daniel and LaVon made their home in Breezy Point.
Daniel was known for his hunting skills; he enjoyed duck and goose hunting as well as clay shooting. He also liked to spend time outdoors, gardening and fishing. Daniel was musically inclined and enjoyed singing, song writing, and playing his accordion.
He will be missed by his wife, LaVon; children, David Senger, of Excelsior, Debbie (Karl) Duies, of Moorhead, Patty (Damian) Bonicatto, of Pequot Lakes, Mark Senger, of Upsala, Kathy Chase, of Sartell, Timothy Senger, of Minnetonka, and Daniel Senger, of Bloomington; siblings, Joe Senger, Frances Miller, Agnes (Jack) Martin, and Betty Ann (Lyle) Anderson; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eddy.
