Daniel Peters

Daniel Loren Peters, 75, of Brainerd, Minnesota, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 13, 2013 at St. Cloud Centracare Hospital. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Brenny Funeral Chapel from 5:00-7:00PM and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis officiated by Father Tony Wroblewski on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 1:00PM.

He was born on August 6, 1937 at St. Joseph's Hospital to Henry and Rose Peters. He lived his whole life in the same house his parents raised him in. Daniel graduated from Washington High School and from there he joined the US Air Force. February 10th, 1961 he married his true love, Bernadette Kucala. Dan worked at Potlatch as a Millwright in Brainerd for 42 years and served as president, secretary, and treasurer of the Local 79 union.

Dan was a member of St. Francis Church, made his Cursillo in 1991, and was an Extraordinary Minister. He volunteered at the soup kitchen, and was a driver for the seniors at Woodland Assisted Living. Dan was a supervisor for Oak Lawn Township, a member of the American Legion, a representative on the Crow Wing County Fair Board, and a member of the Senior Bowling League.

He loved being with his family. Daniel enjoyed playing cards, golfing, fishing, hunting, and farming.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bernie; and his favorite son, Anthony Peters; his favorite daughters, Cynthia (Jon) Ohman, Catherine (Michael) Abrahamson, Caron (Jeff) Long, Christina (Dean) Brodie, and Carleen (Justin) DeMenge. Daniel was extremely loving and proud of his 14 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Also his sisters, Donna (Fran) Perlinger and Beatrice Amerud, both of Brainerd. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rose Peters; sister, Genevieve Isle; and his brothers, John, Conrad, Eugene, Glenn, and Newell.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
